The Keeper of me A Memoir Lynn Schriner Books Reviews

Wow. What an incredible journey! Lynn allows the reader to enter into her world, to experience the trials and tribulations that life sometimes deals us. Far from being a depressing story, or a "woe is me, victim mentality", even though she experienced the same or even worse lows that many of us have had in some way in our lives, and even though she had understandable doubts and fears as she sorted through the "why's", she helps us embrace the positive growth that can occur when we keep our hearts and minds tuned in to God's bigger plan. It's not a religious, "cram the Bible or God down anyone's throats" type of book either. I identified with many of her trials in many ways.

The book transports you to a place where you can review and reflect on your own life, how you view what happens, and helps with positive encouragement that we really do have control, by watching our thoughts and how we assess what's happening to us in our lives. It helped me to realize how this moment in time is all we are guaranteed, and to embrace, value and love those around us in our lives even more, and to appreciate our valuable relationships, for tomorrow, on this earth, is never guaranteed. Highly recommended reading!
I bought this book and literally devoured it in less than 24 hours. It was "that" good. This authors nonpretentious attitude reminds me that God knows me and loves me right where I am on my journey with Him. Stricken by a life filled with tragedy and illness, it's so beautiful to see this authors faith and love for her creator unshaken. Each chapter is a mini type tale of something she went through that left an impact on her life in a positive way. If you can read this book without longing to know the Father even more deeply, I would be surprised. She portrays God as a savior, yes. More importantly she describes him as "The Keeper of Me". Through the good and the bad, she sees Father God in ways most never would. I was particularly humbled by her stories of the homeless. The true character of someone can be clearly seen through their willingness to help those who cannot help them in return. Lynn is that person who doesn't "talk" about what should be done. She does it. Her book opens my eyes and gives me hope for the future. I highly recommend it.
I just finished reading "The The Keeper of Me" by Lynn Schriner and let me tell you all that if you read only one book this year you must choose this one! It will not only Bless you by opening your eyes and making you look at yourself and your life much differently but most importantly it will enrich your faith in God! This life has never been easy for her but what a journey this woman has traveled with God at her side. She is a very gifted and through her writing she is able to capture the essence of her personal walk with the Lord. Thank you for this wonderful gift Lynn!
The Keeper of Me, by Lynn Schriner

Some books are a journey, for the author as well as the reader. In the best examples, the reader comes away with a sense of knowing the writer, and themselves, a little better; a feel, perhaps, of the author's hand in the work. The author, too, is left renewed and enlivened by the chosen path of sharing their own experience.
“The Keeper of Me”, by Lynn Schriner, is a book that suceeds brilliantly on both counts. It is the study of a life marked by grace, pressure, pain and redemption. Most of all, it is a portrait of a passionate lifelong relationship with God. A bright thread of gratitude runs through all its pages, even under the most painful of circumstances.
There have been writers and works who have stood the test of time for what their creations have to give us in the face of deep personal and shared suffering Anne Morrow Lindbergh's A Gift From The Sea; C.S. Lewis's A Grief Observed or Surprised By Joy. It is this reader's opinion that The Keeper of Me is a book that can take its place among these a source of courage and inspiration for all who suffer, all who question, and all who seek God's face in an increasingly impersonal and frightening world. Clearly, a book for our time.
The Keeper of Me is a testimony of a woman whose love of God transcends her trials in life, and her walk with God is a journey to give people hope in the most difficult of situations. Lynn Shiriner writes this book from the depths of her soul. She has experienced that out of body moment where God began to take her into his tunnel of light, but then returned Lynn to her body to give witness of eternity to come. This book is a good read, it shows how the love of God is stronger than suffering on this Earth!!!
Excellent read
